When Georgette Chen moved to Malaya in 1951 she found fertile inspiration in its tropical climate, lush greenery and immense variety of brightly coloured fruits. She filled her artworks with the people, landscapes and flora of her surroundings in Malaya, fondly describing the region as a “land of perpetual summer” that allowed her to thrive creatively.
The Gallery Store by Abry presents Georgette Chen’s works in partnership with Photo Phactory for National Gallery Singapore. This collaboration is part of our efforts in connecting with local brands to celebrate culture and craftmanship.
