Shang Xia

Shang Xia is a Chinese luxury lifestyle brand founded in 2010 through a collaboration between Hermès Group and designer Jiang Qiong-er, with the aim of fusing ancient Chinese craftsmanship and cultural heritage with modern design sensibilities. The name “Shang Xia,” meaning “up and down,” reflects a philosophy bridging tradition and contemporary innovation. The brand spans categories including ready-to-wear, leather goods, jewelry, accessories, furniture, and home objects—many made with rare artisanal materials and techniques rooted in Chinese craft traditions. In December 2020, Italy’s Exor holding became the majority owner following a significant investment, and creative leadership under the likes of Yang Li has brought Shang Xia to international stages such as Paris Fashion Week.
